Honeymooning in Paradise

On July 9th, my hubs and I jumped on a plane headed to Kauai, Hawaii for our Honeymoon. We were so exhausted from the wedding week that we couldn't be more excited to get out of town for a little bit... Just hubs and me!

Kauai was everything you would expect it to be. It was a picture from a movie (literally - they have filmed Jurassic Park, The Descendents and many other flicks there.) We soaked up the sun at the pool and beach, drove down the coast of the island, went on some beautiful walks and ate breakfast on the patio overlooking the ocean every morning.

Our first adventure as husband and wife was an 8 mile roundtrip hike to Hanakapi'a Falls on the Napoli Coast. It was gnarly, our feet hurt and I was an inch away from busting my face open on a rock BUT we did it together and we are so proud of ourselves for doing so. 4 miles up, your reward is a stunning 300 foot waterfall. Brian went for a little dip in the water but it was so cold that I chickened out!

Traveling is one of our favorite things to do. Our Honeymoon was a blast and we are already looking forward to our next little getaway! Thanks for an amazing trip that I will never forget, babe!

Introducing... Mrs. Ashley Johnson

June and July have been total whirlwinds! The planning got pretty intense the last month before the wedding and before I knew it, it was the WEEK of the wedding!

The entire day of July 7, 2012 was magical. I had a yummy breakfast with a couple of my best friends and one of my sisters, Brian and I exchanged gifts and letters (through our messenger, of course) and I had the rest of the afternoon to take my time getting ready. I was so relaxed and I didn't have a nervous bone in my body. I have been SO excited to marry my best friend that there was no way any nerves were getting the best of me. The moment I turned the corner to walk down the aisle, I was fighting back tears with all of my might. While everyone was looking at me, all I could do was look at him.

Standing there, in front of all of our family and friends, holding Brian's hands while tears of joy and love continued to fill my eyes is a moment I will never forget. I won't forget what Brian was wearing, how we looked at one another, how quickly my heart was beating and most importantly, I will never forget the vows we promised each other.

We danced the night away and partied with the people who mean most to us in life. I am so grateful for all of the love and support that surrounded us that day. I am a WIFE to an amazing, loving, caring and funny HUSBAND! My dreams have come true and I feel so blessed to have my best friend and partner in crime by my side forever.
